The objective of this project is to implement an ICT (Information & Communications Technologies) tool based on Computing Aided Design/Computing Aided Engineering (CAD/CAE) to improve the productivity and efficiency within the nano-engineering processes.
We know nanotechnology is an emerging technique whose use avoid the "trial and error" method and, thus, entails a saving regarding experimental costs and improves the speed in obtaining the target outcome.

We develop CAD/CAE tools for nanostructures design, modelling and simulation. Likewise, a high performance computing (HPC) is implemented  to carry out the computation and virtual prototype of nano-products.
The main challenges are:

  • Improvement of productivity regarding nanotechnological products.
  • Development and standardization of the design procedures.
  • To provide the industry with TIC tools.

A decrease of the lead-time by 70% regarding the design of new products and processes according to nanotechnology.
The project entails the development of both, HW for HPC and SW for modelling and simulation.

The product of this project allows the nanotechnology sector to use the more advanced ICT tools to design products, systems at nano-scale level.

This project has been cofunded by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism under "Plan Nacional de Investigación Científica, Desarrollo e Innovación Tecnológica 2008-11" Expediente TSI-020100-2011-300.
